The Briggs Story
Our original secret recipe for Briggs Best Batter came about in 1997 when we purchased the iconic Wigwam Resort of Lake of the Woods near Baudette, MN. During our time there we perfected our signature light and tasty batter. Customers and locals alike kept coming back time and time again. We knew we needed to package up all the goodness for everyone to enjoy. Our batter is excellent on all your favorite meats, seafood, poultry, wild game, vegetables and more!
Moisten fillets with water and shake off any excess (do not pat dry).
Dredge in dry batter mix.
Let stand for at least 5-10 minutes.
Deep fry or pan fry.
Tips & Tricks
Add your favorite flavors and spices (ex: Ranch, Taco, Garlic, Cajun, Italian and more)
Beer Batter - Place batter in a bowl. Slowly add beer or non-alcoholic beer. Whisk or fork until your desired consistency. Batter should be fairly thick. Deep fry to a golden brown.
